Chief (Mrs) Ibironke Modupe Osiyemi was born on 9th March 1943 to Chief Israel Bolaji odufote and Madam Christian Adunola Odufote. Ibironke started her primary education in Isonan primary school and finished it at Ago-iwoye Wesley school.

Ibironke is an accountant by profession and she started work at Akintola Williams & Co. (now Akintola Williams Deloitte & Touche) in January 1964. She thereafter attended Wednessbury College of Commerce, Staffordshire, U.K from 1966 – 67 and Birmingham College of Commerce, in the midlands, U. K. from 1968 – 69 for her section III and IV of the ACCA examinations respectively. In between, she worked at H.M. inspector of Taxes Department in Birmingham between 1967 – 68. In 1969/70, she worked as an Audit senior in Messrs. Kidson, Macy & Ellison, in Birmingham, U.K. She returned to Nigeria in 1970 and commenced work with Messrs. Mobolaji Oluwa & Co. as a qualified Accountant. In her search for wider professional challenges, she moved in 1975 to Messrs. Castleton Elliot & Co., (now KPMG Audit) and rose through the rank to become the first Nigerian female partner in an international firm based in Nigeria in 1982. She had an excellent and interesting career as a partner of KPMG for 20 years before she retired on 30th September, 2002. She was the International Insurance Liaison Partner of KPMG for over 5 years. Ibironke has been rendering selfless services to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigerian for over 20 years by serving as either chairman or member of various ICAN committees. She has served on all ICAN committees and other Ad-hoc committees over the years. She became 40th president of the Institute on the 1st June, 2004 and was the immediate past president for the 2005 – 2006 calendar years. She is the chairman, Management Board of ICAN members’ Benevolent and educational Trust fund and also a member of the board of trustees of the ICAN members’ Benevolent and Educational Trust Fund. She was an ICAN representative on the board of Corporate Affairs Commission.

She is a foundation member of the society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN) and was chairperson of SWAN for some years before becoming a grand patron of SWAN in 2001. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Joint Christian Cemetery Company Ltd/Gte.
